Marseille midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has eulogized Egyptian international Mohammed Salah ahead of the high-stake Champions League clash against Olympique Marseille.
Salah has returned to Liverpool following the closure of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco, where the Pharaohs finished fourth in the competition.
Having being named in the traveling squad, Salah is expected to feature for the Reds after denying himself rest despite his long career with Egypt.
Amid Liverpool’ inconsistent performance, Hojbjerg has refused to underestimate the Premier League club, who has Salah in their ranks.
“It’s not fair to say Liverpool are going through a bad period. They have great players like Mohamed Salah. Liverpool are the champions of England. Liverpool are a strong team and I have confidence in us, and I have ambition with Marseille.”
Salah has not played for the Reds since the win against Brighton at Anfield when he came on as a substitute in the first half and put on a standout performance.
He is expected to play a role as Liverpool takes on Marseille in highly competitive clash this evening.
Salah has scored 5 goals and provided four assists in 20 appearances for Liverpool this season, and the 33-year-old has failed to score since facing Aston Villa on November 1 in the English Premier League.
