Wydad Athletic Club has confirmed a major move in the winter transfer window with the acquisition of Moses Banyaka on a one-season loan.
The agreement includes a clause allowing the club to activate a purchase option, extending his contract for four full seasons should he impress on the field.
In an official statement released on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, Wydad emphasised that the signing aligns with the club’s strategy to strengthen its squad.
The statement welcomed Banyaka to the team and expressed confidence in his technical and physical abilities, highlighting the club’s belief that he can make a meaningful contribution to the ambitions of the Red Team and the expectations of its supporters.

The contract structure provides Wydad with the option to make Banyaka’s stay permanent, reflecting the club’s aim to make thoughtful investments in players capable of impacting both immediately and in the medium term.
Banyaka joins Wydad amid an active transfer period in which the club has also secured high-profile signings, including Hakim Ziyech, Naim Bayar, Salah Eddine Moussadek, and veteran international striker Wissam Ben Yedder.
These acquisitions are part of a deliberate effort by the technical staff and club management to address gaps exposed during the first half of the season, restore balance within the squad, and strengthen Wydad’s competitiveness in upcoming competitions.
