The first “Clasico” between Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the French Ligue 1 is scheduled for October 5 during the 9th matchday. Tensions are already rising between the teams, with Senegalese defender Souleymane Diawara responding to Argentinian player Javier Pastore. Pastore had previously promised “death” to Marseille.
Diawara fired back, saying, “Are we dead? Let him come and say it to his face. On the other hand, I’m preparing a little surprise for him when he comes to the Velodrome. If he starts, in my opinion, I won’t see him in Paris; he will be warming up the sidelines.”
In the previous season, PSG won both of their Ligue 1 matches against Marseille. This season, with the addition of Edinson Cavani to the PSG squad under coach Laurent Blanc, the encounters between the two teams promise to be intense.
