Vinicius Junior has reiterated his desire to remain at Real Madrid for many years, speaking after the club’s dominant 6–1 Champions League victory over Monaco at the Bernabéu.
The Brazilian forward, who both scored and assisted in the rout, stressed that he wants his legacy to be defined by his football, not controversies away from the pitch.
“I want to stay at Real Madrid for a long time. The spotlight is always on me, and I don’t want it to be because of off-field matters. I want people to talk about me for what I’ve given to this club,” he said, underlining how deeply he identifies with the white shirt. Vinicius highlighted that he feels a responsibility to give everything back to a club that has “given him so much.”
Reflecting on his performance against Monaco, he explained that Madrid’s game plan allowed him to shine. “We started the match with high focus, passing the ball between the flanks of the pitch. In this way, I can take possession of the ball a lot, and this is what suits me,” he added, pointing to how the team’s width and circulation helped him attack defenders repeatedly in one-on-one situations.
He has been heavily linked to Saudi Pro League sides. His current contract with Real Madrid ends on 30th June 2027.
