Liverpool midfielder Dominic Szoboszlai has opened up on his relationship with Egyptian international, Mohammed Salah.
The enterprising attacker ended his journey with the Egyptian national team at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after succumbing to a defeat to Nigeria penalties in the third-place clash, with Salah missing his kick.
Salah has, however, returned to Liverpool training ahead of the Champions League clash against Marseille following the closure of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Ahead of the clash on Wednesday, the Hungarian star has confirmed having a strong relationship with the former African Footballer of the Year winner.
“Communication with Mohamed Salah? Yes, honestly, we talk almost daily, we talk about everything. What is said remains between him and me. Mo will return and then we will continue working. He will be here and the final decision rests with the coach and the club. It is not about us but about him.”
“Mohamed Salah is the first penalty taker, but until he returns, I will remain the first taker. He will give me some advice on what to think about when you miss a penalty. He himself has missed two penalties, but he continues playing and forgets what happened”
Salah has not played for the Reds since the win against Brighton at Anfield when he came on as a substitute in the first half and put on a standout performance.
While returning to training, the forward will undergo a medical examination before a decision is made regarding his participation in the Champions League match against Marseille.
