El Hadj Diouf, known for his outspoken nature, has once again expressed his strong opinions, particularly regarding the upcoming elections for the head of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF). Diouf, currently playing for Leeds, has a history of conflicting relations with Augustin Senghor, the president of the FSF.
In his recent comments, Diouf not only voiced support for Mr. Senghor’s opponent in the elections but also criticized Senghor directly. He likened the Senegalese leader to “a player with both broken legs who wants to play football” and went on to suggest that the Lions of Teranga, the Senegalese national team, will not qualify for the 2014 World Cup.
Furthermore, Diouf recommended that the youth in Senegal oppose the candidacy of Me Senghor, accusing him of being incapable of managing his Gorée club, which Diouf claimed was at risk of relegation to a lower division. These comments reflect Diouf’s ongoing involvement in the football politics of his home country and his willingness to engage in public discourse on the matter.
