Senegal head coach Pape Thiaw has made it clear that only victory will suffice when his side face Morocco in the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Teranga Lions lock horns with the tournament hosts on Sunday at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, with continental glory firmly in sight.
Senegal, champions in 2021, sealed their place in the final after edging Egypt 1-0 in a tense semi-final encounter. Star forward Sadio Mané struck in the second half to decide the contest and keep Senegal’s title hopes alive.
Speaking ahead of the showdown, Thiaw underlined his team’s ambition. “We wanted to be in this final. Now that we are here, we have to go and win it,” he said.
Morocco, meanwhile, advanced after holding Nigeria to a draw before triumphing 4-2 in a penalty shootout in their semi-final clash.
The highly anticipated final kicks off at 19:00 GMT.
