South Africa’s head coach, Hugo Broos, emphasized the need for his team to avoid repeating the same errors encountered during the Mali encounter as they gear up to face Namibia in the Africa Cup of Nations 2023 on Sunday.
The Bafana Bafana are set to meet Namibia following their initial loss to Mali with a scoreline of 2-0.
Addressing the press conference, Broos expressed his deep disappointment after the loss to Mali, stating, “We are extremely frustrated after the defeat against Mali because we didn’t play a bad match.
We know it will be tough against Namibia, who have players active in South Africa.”
He continued, “We cannot repeat the same mistakes we made against Mali. We can play a good match during both halves.”
“We have high morale and are more motivated. We expect to play a good match, and we need to work because it will be a tough game,” he added.
Bafana Bafana suffered a 2-0 defeat against Mali in a match that witnessed Percy Tau missing a penalty.
On the other hand, Namibia achieved a historic victory in the first round by defeating Tunisia with a lone goal.
If Namibia secures a win, it would mark their first-ever qualification for the knockout stages in history, while a draw would bring them closer to qualification ahead of the Mali encounter in the third round.
