Ghana defender Alidu Seidu has successfully secured a move to Stade Rennais FC, following an agreement with his former club, Clermont Foot, AfricaSoccer.com can confirm
The finalized deal, valued at approximately €11 million plus bonuses, marks the culmination of Rennais’ persistent efforts, submitting their fourth bid after the initial three were rejected by the Lancers.
The official announcement of the transfer is imminent, scheduled after the conclusion of the African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
Alidu, the 23-year-old versatile defender, has already reached a personal agreement with the Red and Blacks.
The formalities are expected to be completed upon his return from the ongoing AFCON.
Having displayed exceptional performance this season, Alidu has made a notable impact with 14 appearances in Ligue 1, contributing an assist to his credit.
Although he is yet to feature for the Black Stars at the AFCON, he aspires to secure a starting position against the Mambas of Mocambique on Monday, January 22, 2024.
