The list of potential successors to Joseph Koto as the head coach of the Senegal national football team is expanding. John Barnes and Sven-Goran Eriksson have joined the list of applicants, which already includes Jacques Santini and Alain Giresse. While Barnes, the former coach of Celtic Glasgow and Jamaica, is less known, Eriksson has previous experience in coaching the Ivory Coast national team for the 2010 World Cup. Eriksson has also managed Manchester City and the British national team. The Senegalese Football Federation is reported to have received nearly twenty applications for the coaching position.
