WOMEN’S EURO 2013: FRANCE, FAVORITE BUT CAUTIOUS FOR THE QUARTERS!

Bleue

France has advanced to the quarter-finals of the Women’s Euro 2013, setting up a match against Denmark. Despite France’s strong start in the group stage, winning all three matches, coach Bruno Bini is cautious and emphasizes the importance of not underestimating their opponent.

Bini shared that he presented a fable by La Fontaine, “The Bear and the Two Companions,” to his team, stressing the moral that one should not sell the skin of the bear before killing it. This cautionary tale serves as a reminder to the players about the potential pitfalls of overconfidence.

While Denmark may be considered a modest team, Bini warns that they secured their place in the quarter-finals through a draw against Russia. Despite not having won a match in the competition so far (two draws and one defeat in the group stage), Denmark poses a challenge that should not be taken lightly.

To secure a spot in the semi-finals alongside Sweden and Germany, France must approach the game with focus and avoid complacency. Bini acknowledges the team’s strong offensive and defensive capabilities but emphasizes the need for careful analysis of Denmark’s game.

The match is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. UT, and the French team aims to maintain their momentum while respecting their opponent in their quest for success in the Women’s Euro 2013.
