Sadio Mane named Man of the Match in Senegal’s win against Egypt as the Teranga Lions booked their place in yet another continental final.
The Al Nassr forward delivered when it mattered most at the Grand Stade of Tangier, smashing in a precise low strike from the edge of the box in the 78th minute to seal a 1–0 semi-final victory over Egypt.
The first half was cagey, with Egypt defending deep in a compact block and limiting Senegal to half-chances, including a Nicolas Jackson effort that flew over the bar. Senegal were dealt an early blow when captain Kalidou Koulibaly went off injured after receiving a yellow card that also rules him out of the final.
After the break, substitutions injected fresh energy but the pattern remained: Senegal pushing, Egypt resisting. Eventually, a brief lapse in concentration allowed Mane the space to curl his winner beyond Mohamed El Shenawy.
Egypt tried to respond late on, forcing Edouard Mendy into a single comfortable save in stoppage time, but could not find an equaliser. The result sends Senegal to their third AFCON final in the last four editions, where they will face either Nigeria or hosts Morocco.
