Florent Malouda’s struggles appear to be coming to an end as the Guyanese footballer is on the verge of signing with Turkish club Trabzonspor. Malouda took a private flight to Turkey on Tuesday, arriving at around 8 p.m. GMT. After being sidelined at Chelsea throughout the last season, the Guadeloupean midfielder is set to embark on a new chapter in his career.
Despite earlier speculations linking him to Marseille, Malouda is expected to sign a two-year contract with Trabzonspor. A few weeks ago, during a charity match organized by Michael Essien in Ghana, Malouda expressed his relief at finally being free after spending months with the Chelsea reserve team. Napoli was also reportedly interested in the player.
The official announcement of Malouda’s transfer to Trabzonspor is anticipated to occur either on Tuesday night or Wednesday.
