It has been officially confirmed that Stoppila Sunzu is eligible to play in the CAF Cup with Tout Puissant Mazembe. The announcement was made by the Congolese club on its website, stating that they have received approval from CAF for the participation of the Zambian defender. The CAF competition management confirmed the registration of Sunzu at number 6 on the list of 30 qualified players for Tout Puissant Mazembe and has transmitted his license to the federation.
Sunzu, who has been sidelined due to injury for an extended period, rejoined his teammates for training in Accra, Ghana, at the beginning of July. If selected by coach Patrice Carteron, Sunzu will be available to play in the upcoming match against Entente Sétif of Algeria, marking the first day of the group stage in the CAF Cup.
Despite missing out on transfers to the English Premier League last winter, notably to Reading, Sunzu is now set to contribute to Tout Puissant Mazembe’s campaign in the CAF Cup.
