Nigeria coach Eric Chelle has warned of a stern challenge ahead as his Super Eagles prepare to face Morocco in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) semifinals.
The showdown takes place at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, where the hosts, the Atlas Lions, await.
In a media briefing on Tuesday, Chelle acknowledged the increasing difficulty of each match in the tournament.
“Each match that passes is a bigger test than the one before,” he said, adding that his team will approach tomorrow’s clash as if it’s their last. “Tomorrow won’t be easy at all,” he admitted.
Midfielder Alex Iwobi echoed his coach’s caution in a live social media broadcast, describing Morocco as “a strong team, very scary.”
He added, “Now we face them directly. It will be a frightening match.”
Nigeria earned their spot in the semifinals with a commanding 2–0 victory over Algeria in Marrakech, while Morocco secured their place after a 2–0 win against Cameroon.
Kick-off for the highly anticipated encounter is set for 20:00 GMT.
