Moroccan national football team’s defender, Noussair Mazraoui, underwent medical examinations through an MRI scan in Abidjan on Thursday to assess the extent of his recovery from injury.
According to informed sources, Mazraoui, accompanied by members of the medical staff, traveled from San Pedro to Abidjan yesterday for the examinations, part of the routine monitoring of his health following the injury he sustained while with Bayern Munich in Germany.
Noussair Mazraoui did not participate in the team’s first match against Tanzania, and it remains unlikely that he will be featured in the upcoming second match against the Democratic Republic of the Congo on Sunday.
On another note, the Moroccan national team welcomed back all their previously injured players who participated in the training session held this afternoon at the Auguste Denise training ground.
Among those returning to practice were Sofiane Boufal, Yehia Attia Allah, and Abdel Samad Al-Zalzouli.
Mazraoui’s situation adds a layer of uncertainty to Morocco’s defensive lineup, as the team prepares for crucial encounters in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
The MRI results will be eagerly awaited, shedding light on Mazraoui’s readiness and whether he can contribute to Morocco’s campaign in the tournament.
The national team, despite the challenges, remains focused on delivering a formidable performance, with each match holding significant implications for their journey in the AFCON 2023.
