Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Ranga Chivaviro found the back of the net again on Sunday, though his efforts could not prevent Al-Adalah SC from falling 2-1 to Abha in the Saudi First Division.

The 32-year-old South African joined Al-Adalah on a free transfer in September 2025, signing a one-year deal with the Yelo League side.

Since his arrival, Chivaviro has made an immediate impact, scoring two goals in his last three league appearances.

On Sunday, Al-Adalah fell behind in the 33rd minute when Sylla Sow opened the scoring for Abha.

Chivaviro responded in the 51st minute with a powerful left-footed strike that brought his team level, demonstrating his continued threat in front of goal.

However, Abha regained the lead in the 71st minute through Meshal Al Mutairi, leaving Al-Adalah to suffer a narrow home defeat.

Despite the loss, Chivaviro’s contribution highlights his importance to the team’s attack.

His tally now stands at two goals and one assist in ten appearances across all competitions since joining the club. Al-Adalah currently sit 14th in the 18-team Saudi First Division, seeking consistency to climb the standings.

Chivaviro’s adaptation to Saudi football has been noteworthy.

Moving from the South African Premier Division to the competitive environment of the Yelo League, the striker has quickly found his rhythm, providing both goals and attacking presence.

His ability to score crucial goals under pressure has already made him a fan favorite at the club.

Reflecting on his start in Saudi Arabia, Chivaviro said: “Scoring is always satisfying, but the main focus is on helping the team get results. Even in defeat, we keep learning and pushing to improve.”

Al-Adalah now turn their attention to upcoming fixtures as they aim to consolidate their position and avoid slipping further down the league table.

For Chivaviro, maintaining his scoring form will be key to both his personal season and the club’s ambitions.

With his combination of experience and finishing ability, the former Chiefs forward remains a player to watch in the Saudi First Division, proving that even in a new league, his knack for finding the net continues to shine.
