Brice Jovial is set to embark on a new football adventure in China. The Guadeloupean striker, after having a previous overseas experience in Belgium from 2006 to 2008, is now looking to make his mark in the Middle Kingdom.
Dijon, the Ligue 2 club, has confirmed that they have loaned the 29-year-old player to a club in the Chinese 2nd division. Brice Jovial has signed with the Chengdu Blades, and the loan agreement spans four months with an option to make the transfer permanent.
Jovial, who hails from Aubervilliers, has spent the last two seasons with Dijon, playing in both Ligue 1 and Ligue 2. In the 2011/12 season, he emerged as the top scorer for DFCO with 9 goals. Throughout his time at Dijon, he scored a total of 16 goals in 54 league matches, including 9 goals in 30 Ligue 1 matches.
With this move to China, Jovial looks forward to contributing to his new team and making a positive impact in the Chinese football scene. The Dijon club president, Olivier Delcourt, has expressed well-wishes for Jovial’s continued success in his football career.
