Ismail Saibari produced a standout display to earn Man of the Match honours as Morocco powered past Cameroon 2-0 to reach the AFCON 2025 semi-finals in Rabat.
Under the lights at the packed Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, the Atlas Lions played with authority and confidence, answering critics who had questioned their form after a nervy Round of 16 win over Tanzania. Morocco pressed high, dominated possession and kept Cameroon pinned back, feeding off the energy of a raucous home crowd.
Brahim Díaz opened the scoring in the 26th minute, reacting smartly to Ayoub El Kaabi’s flick from an Achraf Hakimi corner to guide the ball in with his thigh, his fifth goal in Rabat and a historic fifth straight AFCON match on the scoresheet. Cameroon briefly threatened after the break, but Morocco’s backline stayed organised and calm.
Saibari then delivered the killer blow with 15 minutes left, arriving unmarked at the back post to sweep Nayef Aguerd’s touch from an Abde Ezzalzouli free-kick into the bottom corner, sparking wild celebrations as Morocco comfortably saw out the game and kept their title dream alive.
