Moroccan midfielder Sofiane Amrabat expressed satisfaction with his team’s commendable performance against Tanzania and shared insights into the upcoming encounter against the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
The Moroccan national team commenced its AFCON journey with a convincing 3-0 victory over Tanzania in the sixth round of group stage matches.
Speaking to BeIN Sports, Amrabat stated, “It’s a good start, especially when you observe the tough matches other teams faced. We must respect all opponents.”
He continued, “Winning 3-0 in a challenging match, Tanzania performed well, and I am proud of my team.”
Discussing the challenges ahead, Amrabat acknowledged, “Training in the afternoon, and playing the next match at the same time will be tough.”
“The opponent will face similar conditions, and we want our fans to be proud of us. We will play until the last breath,” he added.
The Moroccan national team is set to face the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the next round at 2:00 PM.
Morocco’s triumph against Tanzania marked the first victory for Arab teams in the tournament, following draws for Egypt against Mozambique and Algeria against Angola, as well as Tunisia’s loss to Namibia and Mauritania’s defeat against Burkina Faso.
