It appears that PSG’s appeal for a reduction in the suspension of its sports director, Leonardo, has not gone in their favor. The LFP (French Professional Football League) Appeal Commission has ruled, and instead of a reduction, Leonardo’s suspension has been extended.
Originally suspended for nine months, the sports director now faces a one-year suspension, which is four months more than the initial sanction imposed on May 30. The extended suspension means that Leonardo is barred from all official functions until June 30, 2014.
In addition to the extended suspension, there seems to be an unresolved matter regarding the withdrawal of 3 suspended points imposed on PSG. The Commission has decided to refer the file to the Disciplinary Commission of the LFP to “regularize the procedure,” as mentioned on the FFF website.
This outcome is described as a setback for PSG, indicating that their appeal did not achieve the expected reduction in Leonardo’s suspension.
