It seems that the Franco-Haitian player, who had initially expressed a desire to leave the club, has decided to continue with the Liège team. The player, formerly associated with Nantes, has extended his contract with Standard until June 2017. Standard Liège’s management was able to convince the 24-year-old, recognized as the club’s best player of the season, to stay.
Initially, the player, of Haitian origin, had invoked the 1978 law on the contract of paid athletes as the basis for his decision to leave Standard. However, after discussions with the club management, he withdrew his earlier threats and opted to extend his contract.
The technical director, Jean-François De Sart, expressed satisfaction with the player’s decision to stay, stating that it is good news for Standard de Liège when a key player extends his contract and demonstrates a commitment to the club’s ambitious project. The player’s values align with the club’s goals, and both parties share the ambition of competing at the top in Belgian football. Continuing the adventure with players who are familiar with the club is also emphasized as important by De Sart.
