It appears that Olympique de Marseille’s pursuit of Serge Aurier has hit a roadblock, as the Ivorian international is expected to stay with Toulouse FC for the upcoming season. Despite Marseille’s interest in the right back, Toulouse’s president, Olivier Sadran, is reportedly not willing to let go of Aurier.
According to La Provence, the Toulouse president has made it clear that the versatile defender, who can play on both the right and left flanks, will not be released from his contract. Serge Aurier, who was trained at RC Lens, seems to be facing constraints in his current club that prevent his potential move to Olympique de Marseille.
The report mentions that Aurier’s contract with Toulouse runs until 2016, and there is no indication of an exit option for him in the current transfer window. As a result, Marseille’s efforts to bring Aurier to the Canebière may not materialize for the upcoming season.
