Youssef Msakni, the Qatari Al-Arabi player and captain of the Tunisian national football team, clinched a historic record in the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations held in Cote d’Ivoire.
The Africa Cup of Nations 2023 kicked off last Saturday with the Ivory Coast facing Guinea-Bissau, a match that ended with the home team securing a 2-0 victory.
The tournament is scheduled to conclude on February 11.
On Tuesday, Tunisia faced Namibia at 7:00 PM Cairo time, 8:00 PM Mecca time, at the Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium.
This match is part of the opening round-robin fixtures in Group F of the Africa Cup of Nations 2023.
Leading the Tunisian squad against Namibia, Msakni marked his eighth appearance in the Africa Cup of Nations, making him the most capped player in the tournament.
This achievement places him in the company of Egyptian star Ahmed Hassan, Cameroonian Rigobert Song, and Ghanaian Andre Ayew.
