Morocco forward Brahim Diaz has declared his full commitment to the national cause as the hosts continue their campaign at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Real Madrid attacker made an immediate impact by opening the scoring in Morocco’s assured 2-0 victory over Comoros on Sunday in Rabat, a result that marked a confident start to the tournament for the Atlas Lions.
Diaz’s early strike settled nerves, set the tone for the match and sparked jubilant scenes inside the stadium as the host nation tightened its grip on the contest. His influential display earned him the Man of the Match award.
Speaking after the game, Diaz expressed a strong sense of pride and belonging whenever he pulls on the Moroccan jersey.
“I feel at home. I feel really good and know that the people love me,” Diaz said as reported by CAF Media.
“I want to give it my best when representing Morocco because without them, I would not be here and not be playing football. I’m so happy to be here and give everything for my country.”
The 24-year-old will be aiming to build on his impressive start when Morocco face Mali in their next Group clash on December 26.
