AFCON 2025: Morocco’s airport gets fan zones for tournament
The National Airports Office (ONDA) has set up fan zones in the kingdom’s airports ahead of the commencement of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco.
The 35th edition of the continental showpiece begins on Sunday, December 18 through to January 18, 2026, with 24 countries battling it out for the covetous trophy.
As excitement grows, the National Airports Office deems it fit to set up a fan zone at the departure areas of the Morocco airport, allowing travelers and transit passengers to follow the AFCON matches live.
Fans will thus be able to experience every highlight of the competition, even if they are far from the stadiums. This initiative aims to offer a unique and memorable experience, bringing the excitement and passion of football directly to airports.
It is part of the “Welcome Football, Welcome Fans” campaign, which demonstrates the desire of ONDA, in partnership with the Local Organizing Committee and the Confederation of African Football (CAF), to transform its infrastructure into places of conviviality and experience, while supporting a sporting event of national and international importance.
Morocco and Comoros will open the Africa Cup of Nations in a high-stake clash, scheduled at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat on Sunday evening.
