AFCON 2025: We can’t park a bus against Morocco – Comoros head coach Stefano Cusin

Stefano Cusin made his intentions clear ahead of Comoros opening AFCON 2025 match against Morocco, stressing belief rather than fear.

Speaking before the clash in Rabat, the Comoros head coach underlined that respect for the hosts does not mean retreat.

The two sides meet on Sunday at the Moulay Abdellah Stadium, with kickoff set for 19:00 GMT, as Comoros begin their campaign against one of the tournament favorites. Cusin explained that flexibility, not caution, will guide his team on the night.

“So we’re going to play on the ground..? That doesn’t matter at all It will depend on the times. We can’t park a bus against such a team (Morocco). When we have to we will. We have a technical team it wouldn’t be ok playing one style block,” he said at the pre match press conference.

For Comoros, the opening game is more than a result. It is a chance to show growth, courage, and identity on a big stage. An upset would lift belief, but performance and intent may matter just as much for the journey ahead forward.
