Elye Wahi: centre-forward linked with Dortmund move in Germany transfer talks

Elye Wahi is being linked with a switch from Eintracht Frankfurt to Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund, with the move currently rated at a 13% probability according to transfer data.

The 22-year-old centre-forward, valued at €12.00m, is the subject of early speculation despite having only joined Frankfurt from Olympique Marseille in the 2024-25 campaign. While no agreement is in place and there is no confirmation of talks between the clubs, Dortmund are being mentioned as a potential next step should Frankfurt choose to cash in or allow his situation to run down towards a possible free-agent exit in future, with no contract end date listed in the available data.

Wahi’s market value has dropped steadily over the past two years, from a peak of €40.00m at RC Lens in late 2023 to €12.00m at Frankfurt as of December 2025. That trend is feeding suggestions that Dortmund might see an opportunity to recruit a once highly rated forward at a reduced price, particularly given his age and previous scoring reputation in Ligue 1.

Born in Courcouronnes on 2 January 2003, Wahi holds both French and Ivorian nationality and operates primarily as a centre-forward, preferring his right foot. His career path has taken him from youth football at SM Caen and FC Montfermeil to Montpellier’s academy, then Montpellier’s first team, before moves to Lens, Marseille and, most recently, Frankfurt. He has experienced top-flight football in both Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga, adding to his appeal for a club with Dortmund’s European ambitions.

With no confirmed contract details at Frankfurt and a relatively modest current valuation, Wahi’s future remains open. Should a move to Dortmund materialise, it could offer the chance to revive his market value and reassert his potential as one of Europe’s more intriguing young forwards.
