Al Ahly name 20-man squad for Ceramica Cleopatra clash

Al Ahly head coach Jess Thorup has announced a 20-man squad for the team’s clash with Ceramica Cleopatra on Friday, in the second round of the Egypt Capital Cup.

The Red Devils will be looking to respond after losing their opening game of the competition 1-0 against Enppi.​

The squad list is missing several key names due to injuries and international duty. Mohamed Magdy Afsha, Ahmed Abdelkader, Karim Fouad and Achraf Bencharki are all ruled out through injury, adding to the selection challenges facing Torup. The team will also be without its senior internationals, who are currently away with the Egyptian national side preparing for the Africa Cup of Nations.​

Ahly’s 20-man squad for the Ceramica match includes: Mohamed Siha, Hazem Gamal, Omar Kamal Abdel Wahed, Ahmed Ramadan Beckham, Ahmed Reda, Mohamed Shokry, Hussein El Shahat, Achraf Dari, Mostafa El Ash, Taher Mohamed, Ahmed Abdeen, Ahmed Nabil Kouka, Mohamed Abdallah, Ibrahim Kazem, Ibrahim Adel, Omar Sayed Mowad, Ibrahim Mohamed, Jeradishar, Mohamed Sherif and Hamza Abdel Karim. With a mix of youth and experience, Ahly will aim to secure their first win in the new competition and ease early pressure on the squad.
