The Cameroon women’s national team is facing challenges as four of its key players have withdrawn from the squad, with their respective clubs refusing to release them. Players Nchout Njoya Ajara and Augustine Ejangue Sidiki, who play in Russia, and Jeannette Ngog Yango, who plays in Poland, will not be part of the team for the women’s CAN in Equatorial Guinea. The clubs argue that they are not obligated to release the players as the women’s CAN does not appear in FIFA’s calendar. Additionally, striker Madeleine Ngono, who plays in France, is not part of the squad. These challenges come as Cameroon aims to create a positive image after its performance at the London Olympic Games.
