Paris Saint-Germain’s Spanish coach, Luis Enrique, addressed the absence of Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi from the team due to his participation with the national team, the Lions of Atlas, in the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
Enrique emphasized, “There is no room for complaints about Hakimi; if I did, what would be the stance of the other coaches in the French league?”
During the press conference held before the match against Lens in the 18th round of Ligue 1, Enrique added, “We are a collective team, and we must deal with all situations that arise throughout the season.”
He continued, stating, “Despite the absences, we are ready to face Lens, and our goal is to achieve victory.”
Enrique has previously praised Hakimi on several occasions, considering him one of the best players at Paris Saint-Germain.
It is worth noting that Hakimi is currently with the Moroccan national team, gearing up for participation in the Africa Cup of Nations.
The coach’s comments reflect the pragmatic approach of accepting international commitments and recognizing the collective nature of the team.
PSG, despite missing key players like Hakimi, remains focused on their objectives, with Enrique expressing confidence in the team’s readiness for upcoming challenges, including the match against Lens.
