Karim Fragomeni: free agent central midfielder remains without club amid uncertain future

Karim Fragomeni has left ASD Chisola Calcio and is now a free agent after his contract with the Serie D side expired, with the Italian-Egyptian midfielder officially listed as “Without Club” following his departure. The move was completed as a standard free transfer from Chisola, with no fee involved, and marks the latest step in a career that has already taken in several rungs of the Italian system.

The 21-year-old central midfielder’s registration switched from Chisola to “Without Club” on 06/12/2025, confirming his release and immediate availability on the market. With no new club registered on the deal, Fragomeni enters the window as a free agent, leaving the Italian league structure and, in theory, opening the door to a move abroad.

Fragomeni joined Chisola from ASDC Gozzano earlier in the same 2025/26 campaign, having previously featured for Novara FC and their youth side, as well as Torino’s youth set-up. His path has followed a familiar Italian route: from GSD Volpiano Pianese into Torino’s age groups (Under-17 and Under-18), then into Novara’s Primavera, on loan and subsequently permanently, before spells at Gozzano and most recently Chisola.

While his precise appearance and goal figures for Chisola and Gozzano this season are not listed in the data, his market value trajectory offers some indication of his standing. Assessed at €10,000 while at Torino Primavera in mid-2023, his value rose to €25,000 with Novara later that year and peaked at €75,000 during his time at Gozzano in 2024, before settling at €25,000 with Chisola as of 12/11/2025. That valuation now accompanies him into free agency.

A central midfielder by trade, Fragomeni is classified as a “Midfield – Central Midfield” player, with dual nationality of Italy and Egypt. That mix of backgrounds, combined with his availability on a free, could make him attractive to clubs outside Italy who are looking for a low-cost option with grounding in a tactically demanding league structure. His new registration status lists his “league” as “N/A”, underlining that he is no longer tied to any domestic competition and could, in principle, move into a new environment abroad.

Having played in Serie D – Girone A with Chisola and previously in the Italian lower tiers with Novara and Gozzano, Fragomeni has experience across youth and senior football within one of Europe’s most tactical football cultures. The end of his Chisola spell does not carry a stated contract end date in the data, but the confirmed transfer on 06/12/2025 formalises the conclusion of that relationship.

Born on 24 May 2004, Fragomeni remains at an age where his career direction is still very much being defined. With no transfer fee required and a current market value of €25,000 attached to his name, his next move will determine whether he continues along the familiar circuits of Italian football or steps into a new landscape altogether. As a free agent, the range of possibilities – including a move away from his home country’s system – now lies open in front of him.
