Yacine Titraoui’s brilliant play sends Charleroi to the quarter-finals in the Belgian Cup
Sporting Charleroi are through to the Belgian Cup quarter finals after a solid 2-0 win, with Yacine Titraoui delivering the moment of real class that sealed the result.
The club, featuring two Algerian players, now joins the teams of fellow Algerians Kadri and Zorgane in the next stage of the competition.
Charleroi controlled the second half and broke the deadlock in the 51st minute. Parfait Guiagon kept his cool and scored from the penalty spot to give the Zebras the lead they needed. The team kept pushing, and their effort paid off again in the 74th minute when Mardochee Nzita headed in the second goal. The move started on the right side, where Titraoui showed great awareness. He received the ball, cut inside toward the box, and sent a precise cross to the far post for Nzita to finish.
The performance was calm, organised, and a real statement from Charleroi. Their 2-0 victory sends them into a quarter-final clash with Club Bruges, and the team will hope to keep their momentum going.
