AFCON 2025: CAF unveils full logistical guide for accredited media in Morocco
Accredited media covering the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco will operate under a new set of logistical measures designed to streamline access, strengthen security, and enhance digital efficiency, according to the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The updated system aims to simplify accreditation, modernise visa procedures, and provide a more practical working environment for journalists attending the tournament.
One of the central requirements for all accredited media is the official accreditation letter issued by CAF.
This document is essential for completing entry procedures into Morocco and for activating registration on the Yalla application.
It also serves as the key to obtaining an accreditation card upon arrival.
Journalists who have not yet received their letter are encouraged to contact CAF immediately to avoid delays in their travel and registration process.
CAF has also introduced a major innovation for international media: a free electronic visa specifically designed for journalists whose countries do not have a visa exemption agreement with Morocco. This e-visa can be requested exclusively through the Yalla app, allowing media personnel to complete the process entirely online from anywhere in the world. The digital system eliminates the need for in-person submissions and replaces traditional paperwork with a faster, fully electronic alternative.
A simplified application process accompanies this new system.
Journalists are no longer required to provide documents such as proof of residence or financial guarantees.
Instead, the CAF accreditation letter alone is sufficient.
Media professionals must upload the letter twice on the Yalla app as part of the visa request, a step that consolidates the entire process within a single platform and significantly reduces administrative burden.
Another mandatory component for all media personnel is the Fan/Yalla Card.
This digital identification will be required for stadium access, entry into media zones, and general verification throughout the tournament.
Journalists can download the card via the Yalla app or through the official website, www.yallamorocco.ma.
Like the accreditation letter, this card must also be uploaded twice within the app when completing the visa procedure.
CAF says this unified system reflects its broader ambition to modernise access control and improve the experience for participating media.
To support journalists throughout the process, CAF and tournament organisers have established multiple assistance channels.
Accreditation-related queries can be directed to [email protected], while any issues involving the Yalla application can be addressed through [email protected] or the Need Help tab within the app.
These resources aim to ensure that media professionals receive timely guidance as they prepare for the continent’s showcase event.
With these new measures, CAF is positioning AFCON 2025 as not only one of the most anticipated football competitions of the year, but also one of the most technologically advanced from a logistical standpoint.
