EPL: Bukayo Saka scores late to seal Arsenal’s 2-0 win against Brentford at Emirates
England forward of Nigerian descent, Bukayo Saka, was on target for Arsenal on Wednesday night, sealing a 2-0 victory for the side against Brentford in the English Premier League.
In the match played at Emirates Stadium, the Gunners took an early lead through Mikel Merino, who rose highest to meet a pinpoint cross from Ben White and powered a close-range header past a helpless Caoimhin Kelleher.
The Gunners controlled the tempo from that point, keeping Brentford at arm’s length throughout the match.
In the 90th minute of added time, Merino once again played a key role, threading a clever pass into the path of Saka.
The winger displayed superb composure inside the box, picking his spot and rifling the ball into the top corner to make it 2-0 and wrap up all three points for Arsenal.
The win keeps Arsenal on top of the English Premier League standings with 33 points after matchday 14, five more than Manchester City, the team in second.
