Ayman Younis: national team fortunate to draw against Mozambique; formation change crucial for Ghana clash

Ayman Younis, the former Egyptian football star, expressed his belief that the national team was fortunate to secure a draw against Mozambique.

Speaking on the “Captain with Ahmed Hassan” program on the DMC channel, Younis highlighted a sense of arrogance and complacency among some players, pointing out significant mistakes committed by the team members that warranted intervention from the coaching staff.

“Roy Vitoria should have intervened after taking the lead with a goal.

The midfield was in a poor state, and there was a lack of cohesion between the lines,” explained Younis.

Younis further emphasized the congestion in Mohamed Salah’s front, leading to a loss of control over the midfield.

He praised goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shenawy as the standout player of the match, making crucial saves against numerous dangerous opportunities.

“The match against Ghana will be challenging despite the performance against Cape Verde, and changes in the formation, especially in the midfield, are necessary,” added Younis.

He concluded by underscoring the upcoming difficulty against Ghana and the imperative need for adjustments in the team’s setup.

Ayman Younis’s insights shed light on the tactical challenges faced by Egypt and the necessary alterations required to tackle the formidable Ghanaian side in the upcoming clash.
