Belgian-Guinean winger Malick Fofana remains on Bayern Munich’s wishlist despite Lyon tough stance
Belgium international of Guinean descent Malick Fofana remains a transfer target for German giants, Bayern Munich despite Olympique Lyon’s tough stance.
Fofana was a top transfer target for the Bundesliga giants in the summer, but Lyon opted to keep the enterprising attacker.
Despite the offseason firesale, the French Ligue 1 giants managed to retain Fofana, who remains the only high-value asset for the club.
Meanwhile, Lyon remains determined to keep the Belgian-Guinean attacker beyond next summer transfer window.
“The sale of Fofana has never been on the table for January,” OL CEO Michael Gerlinger told Ligue 1 Plus last month.
Despite Lyon stance, Bayern Munich remains interested in the services of the winger and are prepared to make a move next summer.
Meanwhile, several Europe elites clubs are reportedly interested in pulling off a deal for the enterprising winger.
For now, however, Said El Mala is the priority option for the Bavarian club at left wing. But Fofana remains a very concrete option.
Fofana has not played since the end of October, since sustaining a serious ankle injury. He is not expected to play again until around mid/late January.
