Nigeria international Victor Osimhen has been ruled out of Galatasaray’s upcoming games against Genclerbirligi and Union Saint Gilloise due to injury setbacks.

The former Napoli goal-monger succumbed to injury in the first half at the Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan Stadium, as the Super Eagles fell short to DR Congo in the African World Cup playoff final.

Osimhen had to be replaced at halftime, with Sevilla star Akor Adams replacing him in the highly-competitive clash last Sunday.

The forward is suffering from a moderate strain in his left hamstring, ruling him out of Galatasaray’s upcoming two games.

Galatasaray will play host to Genclerbirligi in the Turkish top-flight this weekend before taking on Union Saint Gilloise in the UEFA Champions League.

The striker had been instrumental in Galatasaray’s success, scoring 37 goals in 41 appearances last season and helping the team win the Turkish Super Lig title.

Osimhen has been impressive this season, scoring 9 goals in 11 games across all competitions for Galatasaray. In the Super Lig, the forward has netted 3 goals in 8 matches.

He has also had a strong Champions League campaign, scoring 6 goals in 3 appearances, including a hat-trick.
