Zamalek honors Mohamed Sabry and supports his family after tragic passing

The Zamalek Club Board, led by Captain Hussein Labib, has declared three days of official mourning following the tragic death of club legend Mohamed Sabry in a car accident in eastern Cairo.

To honor his legacy, the club will host a formal condolence gathering at the club’s headquarters on Sunday, giving fans and club members a space to pay their respects together.

As a gesture of appreciation, Zamalek has committed to providing ongoing financial support to Sabry’s family, including a regular pension and ensuring his television contract salary continues to be paid. This recognizes Sabry’s contributions both as a player and a television pundit.

Sabry, born in 1974, was celebrated for his brilliant performances with Zamalek’s “Golden Generation” in the late 1990s and early 2000s, winning 15 major titles with the club, including league trophies and African championships. He later discovered future stars and served as a football analyst, known for his loyalty and professionalism.

Following the announcement, tributes flooded in from club officials and fellow players, highlighting the loss of an admired player and a beloved figure whose devotion to Zamalek left a lasting mark in Egyptian football.
