World Cup Qualifiers: Eric Chelle eyes improved Super Eagles performance in playoff final against D.R Congo
The head coach of Nigeria, Eric Chelle, has stressed the need for his Super Eagles players to improve their performance in their next match against D.R Congo.
Nigeria will face off with D.R Congo on Sunday in the final of the African qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Super Eagles booked a place in the final following a 4-1 win over Gabon after extra time on Thursday.
Speaking in his post-match interview, Eric Chelle acknowledged that his team played well in the win against Gabon but admitted that there were some bad moments as well.
He stressed his team will need to improve in their next match to qualify for the intercontinental playoff.
“We did a lot of good things (vs Gabon), but bad things too.
“We have to correct some things for the second game, but I am confident of my players and what they have done,” Eric Chelle said after the game.
The final of the African playoff for the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be played on Sunday, November 16.
