Mustafa Mohamed, the striker for the Egyptian national team, emphasized the monumental stature of the Africa Cup of Nations, stating, “The Africa Cup of Nations is a tournament for giants, a challenging championship where we approach each match as if it were a standalone final in itself.”
Addressing reporters in the press conference ahead of Egypt’s opening match against Mozambique on Sunday in the Africa Cup of Nations hosted by Ivory Coast in 2023, Mustafa Mohamed continued, “Our entire focus is currently on Mozambique, aiming to secure a victory and gather the crucial three points.”
Reflecting on past experiences, he noted, “The opening match against Nigeria in the previous tournament was tough, but we corrected our mistakes afterward.
Football in Africa is evolving, and we approach every game as if it were a special championship.”
Mustafa Mohamed underlined the unity within the Egyptian national team, stating, “We are all part of the Egyptian national team, standing united with a common goal—to achieve the dream.
We have exceptional players and a coaching staff of high caliber.
Unfortunately, luck has not always been on our side in previous tournaments, such as Cameroon and Gabon.
Mohamed Salah is a true leader and a great player; we strive to benefit from his skills to bring joy to the fans.”
