Tanzania dismiss head coach Hemed Suleiman a month to 2025 Africa Cup of Nations

The Tanzanian Football Federation (TFF) has parted ways with head coach Hemed Suleiman just a month before the start of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The decision, announced by the federation, was described as a mutual agreement between both parties. Suleiman, who hails from Zanzibar, has been relieved of his duties following a period of mixed results with the Taifa Stars.

In the interim, Argentine tactician Miguel Gamondi has been appointed to take charge of the national team as preparations continue ahead of the continental tournament.

According to sources, the Tanzanian Football Federation is already working to decide which coach will take the national team to the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

At the tournament set for Morocco, Tanzania find themselves in a tough Group C that includes the Super Eagles of Nigeria, the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia, and the Cranes of Uganda.

Tanzania will open their group campaign on December 23, with a tough contest against favourites Nigeria.
