UCL: Ousmane Dembele to undergo late fitness test ahead of PSG’s meeting with Bayern Munich on Tuesday
France forward of Malian descent, Ousmane Dembele, will undergo a late fitness test on Tuesday morning ahead of PSG’s UEFA Champions League clash against Bayern Munich in Paris.
The Ballon d’Or winner remains a major doubt for Luis Enrique’s side, as he continues to recover from a thigh problem that has hampered his return to full fitness.
According to French outlet L’Équipe, Dembélé’s involvement from the start appears unlikely, with the PSG boss hesitant to take any risks.
Dembélé had made a promising comeback in the Champions League two weeks ago, scoring in the 7-2 win over Bayer Leverkusen.
However, he has since struggled to complete full matches and featured for only 18 minutes in PSG’s narrow 1-0 victory over OGC Nice last weekend, after which he complained of Achilles tendon discomfort.
Although the 28-year-old rejoined team training on Sunday, concerns remain over his physical readiness for such a high-intensity fixture. Reports suggest he may only be included on the bench as a precaution.
PSG will be hoping for a positive update on Tuesday morning as they prepare for a crucial group-stage encounter against the German Bundesliga champions.
