Under the guidance of coach Didier Six, 18 Sparrowhawks trained at the Kégué Stadium in preparation for a friendly match against Equatorial Guinea in Malabo. Out of the 23 players initially named by the Federation, 17 were present during the training session. Due to potential absences in the upcoming matches, Backer Aloenouvor from Hammam Sousse in Tunisia was recalled to the group.
Several key players, including Emmanuel Adebayor, Kossi Agassa, Floyd and Jonathan Ayité, Serge Gakpé, and Alaixys Romao, are expected to be unavailable for the match in Malabo. While the first four are uncertain for the entire month of June, Gakpé and Romao are expected to return to Lomé on Wednesday.
During the training session, Alain Harpe, who had resigned during the return of CAN 2013, was present alongside coach Didier Six and Tchakala Tchanilé. The reason for Harpe’s return to the Eperviers is not clear.
