Mozambican Newspaper: time to strike against the Pharaohs

The Mozambican newspaper “Al Akhbar” has unveiled insights into their national team’s playing strategy ahead of their participation in the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

The newspaper reported that national team coach Shekinho Conde invested a significant amount of time in building offensive movements from the defensive end during the initial training sessions.

The focus was on prioritizing ball circulation among players from various playing axes, with the headline declaring, “It’s time for the Black Snakes to conquer against the Pharaohs.”

The publication continued, highlighting the fundamental idea of instilling confidence in players possessing the ball, emphasizing their fearlessness during ball reception and distribution.

Moreover, it underlined the absence of alternatives for attempting attacks in the opponent’s final third of the field, relying heavily on offensive transformations and playing on counter-attacks to avoid going head-to-head with Egypt’s offensive prowess.

Our national team will kick off its African Cup of Nations campaign against Mozambique in the opening match of the group stage, alongside Ghana and Cape Verde.

The Egyptian national team has a perfect record against Mozambique, winning all five encounters, three of which were in the Africa Cup of Nations and two in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

Egypt emerged victorious in three final stage matches of the Africa Cup of Nations in 1986, 1998, and 2010, securing the championship title each time.
