Under the leadership of Volker Finke, there have been adjustments to the list of players for the Cameroonian national football team. The German coach has called up Jacques Zoua, Willie Overtoom, and new addition Marvin Matip, who waited four years to join the squad.
Marvin Matip, the brother of Joel Matip, received FIFA’s approval to play for the Indomitable Lions in 2010 but had to wait until now to make his debut. The FC Ingolstadt defender is considered a versatile player according to his entourage. He is expected to participate in the friendly match against Ukraine scheduled for Sunday.
After the friendly, the Cameroon national team will commence a training camp in Yaoundé as they prepare to face Togo in Lomé on June 9 for the 4th day of the World Cup qualifiers for Brazil 2014.
