The location of the Sudan-Ghana match, part of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers’ 4th day, has been changed from the Khartoum stadium to the Al Merreikh stadium in Ondurman. Sudanese authorities cited technical problems at the Khartoum stadium, leading to the decision to relocate the game.
Apart from the technical issues, another significant factor in the decision was the difference in playing surfaces. The Khartoum stadium features a synthetic turf, while the Al Merreikh stadium in Ondurman has a natural grass surface. This change in venue aims to address the technical challenges and provide a more suitable playing field for the match.
