Al Ahly’s President Mahmoud El-Khatib outlines progress and next dreams

Mahmoud El-Khatib, the president of Egyptian powerhouse Al Ahly, addressed club members and fans in a Thursday press conference, emphasizing the club’s achievements and his commitment to further progress.

El-Khatib highlighted that Al Ahly’s success over the years is a result of teamwork and the strong sense of belonging among members. He expressed pride in new facilities and upgrades, with three completed branches and ongoing expansion plans for future growth, noting that a clear roadmap guides every development.

Despite personal health challenges, El-Khatib said he prioritized being present in the club and credited the collective vision for consistent advances since Al Ahly’s founding in 1907. Financial accomplishments were underscored, club membership values now exceed 1.5 billion EGP, and the budget has increased tenfold since 2017. Recent strategic investments, including sports and real estate ventures, have boosted resources and made new initiatives possible.

El-Khatib praised the club’s adaptability, citing their swift handling of football setbacks and celebrating multipronged success in both team and individual sports. Stressing Al Ahly’s community and national commitments, he called for everyone to unite behind the “biggest dream”, building Al Ahly’s own world-class stadium, a project he believes will define the club’s next era.
