Algeria’s Women’s National Team prepares for showdown against Cameroon

The Algerian women’s national football team kicked off their training camp on Monday, October 20, 2025, at the National Technical Center in Sidi Moussa.

The team is getting ready for the first leg of the second qualifying round of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, where they will face Cameroon.

The players, selected by coach Farid Benstiti, arrived at the center in the afternoon and immediately took part in their first training session focused on recovery after their journeys. Earlier that day, coach Benstiti held a press conference to outline the team’s preparation plans and emphasized the importance of discipline and focus: “We want to approach both games against Cameroon in the best possible shape and get the results we want.”

Unfortunately, Morgane Ikene has been ruled out due to injury. She will be replaced by forward Inès Khiri, who plays for FC Yverdon Sport in Switzerland.

The first leg against Cameroon will take place this Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Miloud Hadefi Stadium in Oran. The team’s training camp and preparations highlight their determination to deliver a strong performance and advance in the tournament.
