Egypt: Al Ahly confirm injuries to Ahmed Reda and Achraf Dari

Dr. Ahmed Gaballah, Al Ahly’s team doctor, has shared promising injury news just before the club’s journey to Burundi for their Champions League opener against Aigle Noir.

Gaballah revealed: “Thank God, as of yesterday, we had five injured players, but now it’s down to four after Ahmed Reda recovered from a knee problem and resumed training.” Reda is now fully cleared for both training and the upcoming adventure with the team.

Midfielder Emam Ashour is still under close medical supervision. “He undergoes regular tests two to three times a week, and remains at home as we monitor his progress. He’s improving steadily and will start technical and physical recovery soon, as long as his test results continue to improve,” explained Gaballah. The club has crafted a comprehensive treatment plan, collaborating with Ashour’s personal consultants and nutritionist. Encouragingly, he’s actually gained a little weight during this period, which is a positive sign.

Elsewhere, defender Ashraf Dari faces at least two more weeks of rehab, while winger Hussein El Shahat’s muscle injury requires about seven more weeks for a full recovery. There’s optimism for Karim Fouad, who is in the final phase of recovery and could return in a week to ten days. Gaballah happily confirmed: “Mohamed Shoukry has been fully cleared and is ready for matches.”
